Ivan Kuhn has a bachelor degree in Political Sciences from Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia and M.A. in International Relations from University of Kent at Canterbury, United Kingdom.

In 1995 – 1997 he had been working as an editor at the foreign news desk of the SME daily newspaper. From 1998 he has been working as a project manager and freelance consultant in the area of the projects financed from the EU funds. In 1998 – 2000 he was a programme manager in the Phare technical assistance projects focused on public administration reform, decentralisation and modernisation of the public administration. In 2000 – 2002 he was a project manager in technical assistance projects focused on preparation of application for grants from the ISPA program in the area of environmental infrastructure. In 2002 – 2005 he cooperated with various international consultancy companies on implementation of various Phare technical assistance projects.

Within the Conservative Institute of M. R. ©tefánik he is a senior expert in the project “Eurofunds Watchdog – Decrease of the risk of corruption through monitoring of projects financed from the EU funds”. This project commenced in April 2007 and, depending on financial resources available, has been implemented until now with a one year interruption in 2011. Beside that he is focusing on topics of International Relations, Slovak Foreign Policy, European Affairs, good governance at the local government level and transparency and fight against corruption. He is the National Editor and author of the analytical National Report on Standard Eurobarometer No. 62-76 public opinion survey. He is a member of the Slovak Association for Political Sciences and of the Slovak Foreign Policy Association (SFPA). He cooperated with the Pontis Foundation, Transparency International Slovakia, Center for European and North Atlantic Affairs, Slovak Atlantic Commission and AI Nova.
