Ondrej Dostál, Director of the Conservative Institute

He studied philosophy and sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy, Comenius University in Bratislava. In 1993 – 1998 he worked as a commentator of domestic policy for the daily newspaper SME. In 1998 – 2001 he was a spokesman of the Democratic Party. Since 2001 he has been active as the Director of the Conservative Institute of M. R. ©tefánik. He deals with issues of social politics, civil society, minorities and some aspects of the European Union. He publishes in several media. He is also a co-author of publications Roots of Hatred in the Slovak Media (1993) and Minorities in a Mirror of Two Terms of Office, Comparison of Situations of Minorities within the Years 1994 – 1998 and 1998 – 2002 (2002).

Since 1995 he has regularly been co-operating with the Institute for Public Affairs - he prepares chapters regarding national minorities and social politics for the publication Global Report on the State of Society. He is a co-ordinator of Initiative Against the European Constitution.
