About Jesús Huerta de Soto:

Prof. Jesús Huerta de Soto is Ph. D. in Economic Science and Ph. D. in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid (Summa Cum Laude and Extraordinary Awards). He is also a mathematical actuary and holds a Stanford M.B.A. He is member of the Mont Pèlerin Society, of the Royal Economic Society of London, the American Economic Association and the Spanish, Portuguese and Swiss Associations of Actuaries. He was awarded the King Juan Carlos International Prize for Economics (Madrid, 1983), the Adam Smith Award (Brussels, 2005) and the Franz Cuhel Memorial Prize for Excellence in Economic Education (Prague, 2006). Since 2000, he has been Professor of Political Economy at the King Juan Carlos University of Madrid. Huerta de Soto is currently considered as one of the most representative exponents of the Austrian School of Economics.

He has published numerous research works and articles on subjects related to his speciality, among which his books:

    - Money, Bank Credit and Economic Cycles (Mises Institute, 2006, 2009)
    - Planes de Pensiones Privados (1984, 2005)
    - Lecturas de Economía Política - 3 volumes (1986-1987, 2005)
    - Socialismo, cálculo económico y función empresarial (1992, 2000, 2005. English edition forthcoming)
    - Estudios de Economía Política (1994, 2005)
    - La Escuela Austriaca: mercado y creatividad empresarial (Spanish (2000), Italian (2003), Portuguese (2005), German (2007), Russian (2007), French (2008) and English (2008) editions)
